I'm not familiar with the original so I don't know how tweakable the samples were on the original units. Personally I think I prefer the Emu One because it sounds so unique. Each category has roughly about 15 to 30 patches. Well to be honest there really aren't a super ton of presets but everyone of them sounds really good and not fake midi like at all, mainly because they are indeed real samples from real instruments and they play really well across the keyboard.
